UZBEKISTAN: CELEBRATING DEFENDERS OF THE MOTHERLAND DAY

These days, mass events are taking place in Uzbekistan in honor of the 33rd anniversary of the creation of the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan and the Day of Defenders of the Motherland.

January 14 – Day of Defenders of the Motherland – is a major public holiday in Uzbekistan. According to tradition, this date is widely celebrated in Uzbekistan.

On the eve of this holiday, demonstration marches of units of the Ministry of Defense and the National Guard of Uzbekistan are held in the capital, large cities and towns of the country, the military demonstrates hand-to-hand combat skills and training of the guard of honor, performances of military orchestras and a display of weapons and military equipment are organized

In recent years, as a result of reforms carried out to increase the combat potential of the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan and radical modernization of the defense construction system, profound qualitative changes have occurred in the national army, service in its ranks has literally become a matter of honor.

Today, the professional skills and reputation of military personnel are growing on a global scale. This is clearly seen in the example of representatives of the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan, who actively participate in prestigious international military competitions and occupy honorable places.

Work aimed at educating young people in a military-patriotic spirit has acquired great importance.

Comprehensive measures are being implemented to provide social protection for military personnel, their family members and veterans.

Thanks to such efforts in Uzbekistan, the active cooperation of the national army and the people, the Armed Forces have become a reliable guarantor of the country’s development, peace and stability, a real school of courage and fortitude.
